# Baptism on Profession of Personal Faith in Jesus Christ

> Believer’s baptism at the Baptist church in Olomouc: we baptize by immersion those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ, after several meetings.

**About the church**

In our church we baptize on profession of faith – that is, only those who have decided in their own hearts to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Although the culture of our country has very strong Christian roots, we live in a very secularized society. When it comes to the basics of Christianity and the Bible, most people are a blank page, so they do not know what it means to be baptized.

That is why, if you are interested in baptism, we take a personal approach with each person over several meetings. There, everyone gets to know the person and the basic teaching of Jesus Christ, and the history and principles of our church. Before baptism we want to make sure that the person understands the meaning of this important step.

> “Then Jesus came to them and said: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go to all nations and make disciples, **baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit**, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18–20)
